Metabolic syndrome
Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions — increased blood pressure, a high blood sugar level, reduced thyroid function, excess body fat around the waist or abnormal cholesterol levels — that occur together, increasing your risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
If insulin and sugar goes up due to insulin resistance, the liver begins lipogenesis, (the simple sugars are converted to fatty acids). If LDLs (the cholesterol that can cause blockage in arteries) are elevated, triglycerides and fats are increased which cause inflammatory cytokine release. This causes an increased level of inflammation in the body. If the inflammatory cytokines are elevated due to gut dysbiosis (where the levels of helpful and non helpful gut flora are thrown out of balance), infection or elevated cortisol (a stress hormone), this will feed the fat build‐up cycle and there will be an increase in “metabolic syndrome”.
Symptoms:
Anxiety and depression

Reduced Progesterone and Testosterone
Fatigue and malaise
Reduced TH1 immune function
